REASONS FOR ADOPTION AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF PLACEMENT

Birth mother Christine is from an Irish family background. She is the 7th of 10 children, there is very little information recorded on Christine's family.

Christine had two other children, a girl called Anna Maria who lived in Ireland with Christine's parents. The second child a boy Jason Christopher was placed for adoption in Ireland.
When Christine was pregnant she approached the Crusade of Rescue in London for help and requested adoption because she could not care for the baby herself and wanted to have the security of family life by adoption.

Joseph was born on the 30th October, 1974 on London where he remained until placed for adoption with Mr & Mrs Whelan on the 20th December, 1974 and given the name Matthew Joseph. Unfortunately Christine could not be found to sign the legal papers: she did not leave a forwarding address and could not be found and she did not respond to extensive advertising to trace her - the court therefore dispensed with her consent and the adoption was granted on the 10th September, 1975.

There is no record of Christine contacting the Crusade of Rescue or this society since 1975

He was born in New Pitsligo Aberdeenshire Scotland on 9th August 1942.
Our father's name was Peter and our mother's name Christina. There are 5 children; Peter, Margaret, Sheena, Helen and Sandy.
Sandy joined the Royal Navy at 15 years old in 1957 and trained on HMS Ganges in Ipswich. He served on HMS Raleigh, HMS Duncan - a corvette in the cod war, and HMS Ark Royal. He went to the Mediterranean on the fastest ship in Europe testing sea-slug missiles. He served 14 years in the Royal Navy all together.
On leaving in 1971 he worked for Cable and Wireless which is now NTL. He married an older woman in Plymouth whom we met once.
Both our parents are dead now and we would like to get some idea as to what has happened to him and if he has any children we would like to get in touch.

I am trying to locate a Helen and John Wilks of "Loscar Farms" in Sheffield, England. I am doing our family history and our family name is Loscar. I have found information on my great great great grandparents. There were three brothers born in the early 1800's and I have found info on two of them. I am looking for my cousin Robert Westbrook last seen about 1948 (we think) he was about two years old then, he may well have changed his surname, his father's name was Robert Desmond Westbrook (my uncle) and Mary Westbrook, Mary and Robert junior disappeared shortly after the marriage broke up. The family left Yorkshire in the late 50's/early 60's to live in Cropredy, Oxfordshire. My grandfather had one surviving sister, Dorothy, known as Dolly, who married Sid LOVETT. I'm led to believe the name Dave was popular in the Marriott family, so any Dave Marriott's are likely to be relatives.
